MIKKEL ON THE BIG SCREEN

Just before the showing of Matrix Reloaded at Sandvika Cinema 1 on 25 May, I got a minor shock as I suddenly found myself displayed on the big screen in a commercial for Sjoa Rafting. The picture used in the commercial was shot when me and the boys from work went rafting in September 02.

I got this crazy desire to scare the guy at Sjoa Rafting, so I called the guy after talking to both the cinema and the lady who made the commercial. After a short discussion of whether using a picture of recognizable persons in marketing without consent was allowed or not, I ended up getting a free raftingtrip for everyone in the picture. Strange enough a blank mail from an attorney showed up in my inbox by a mistake later that day.. After a bit of correspondance the next day she confirmed that I was right about the fact that they're not allowed to use the picture!

I can recommend trying rafting, though it looks cooler in the pictures than it really is. A bit disappointing to spend $100 without believing you're going to die at least once.

The commercial will run for 3 months.The picture is also used in a brochure from Sjoa Rafting.
