WARM-UP
FLIGHT - 3 DAYS LEFT Written: 01
JULY 2003
Departure is approaching fast. Today it's 3 days
left til I'm on my way to the States. I spent my
day flying a last flight with Jon-Arne Lillerud,
a warm-up flight if you like. The flight went out
of Kjeller (ENKJ) in a Piper 28-140 (SE-LBN) in
direction towards Rygge (ENRY). To really warm up,
Jon-Arne left me in charge of the communication
with the ground. As I felt I had the whole maintaining
altitude and speed thing under control, I figured
I might as well just jump right into it and get
rid of the radiophobia as well as exercising my
simultaneous capacity. I/We did 2 touch-and-go's
at Rygge before flying to Jon-Arnes cabin outside
Fredrikstad. After a couple of rounds around his
cabin, I set the course towards Asker at low altitude
along the coast. A couple of compulsary rounds over
my house as well before I finished it off with a
landing at Kjeller. Can't say it was a pretty one,
though crosswind and windshear did its part to make
things difficult for me. 1h 40 min airborne makes
a pretty respectable warmup flight in my opinion.
That leaves me with 3:40 total airborne time behind
the yoke before startup at NAIA. Can't wait to fly
more!
Of course I'm born a pilot. I've got a constant
smile on when I'm out flying.
Swedish Piper 28-140 (SE-LBN). OFK had to rent planes
after they lost a couple of their own to the
hangarcollapse this winter.
Final, Runway 30, Rygge, (ENRY) Touch-and-Go.
Crosswind windshear did its part to
make things difficult!
To our big surprise and excitement this old Vampire
was out flying prior to our take-off.
It even put on a show with a lowpass
followed by a roll.
