I finally got my first flight at the school today.
After a bit of ground instruction with my instructor
Anna, the next step was to preflight the small Cessna
152 (reg. N6374M). The intention of the first lesson
was to teach me "high speed taxiing",
which involved going down the runway at a speed
just below take-off speed to get the feeling of
the ruddercontrol. After a couple of rounds down
the runway I finally got to do the take-off. Wonderful
feeling to blast down the runway and finally rotate
the nose towards the sky. After take-off I went
a round in the pattern around the airport before
turning the airplane down on final approach. I felt
I did most of the landing myself, though Anna did
help me with some adjustments. It can't be perfect
the first time (this most certainly was not!).
