MOVING
Written: 28 SEPTEMBER 2003

We've finally moved to our "new" apartment. The school is repainting and recarpteing the apartments, so we've been moved. The difference isn't that great, but we have at least gotten a new carpet and the house looks a whole lot better from the outside. The apartment is 100 meters from the old one and located next to the pool and is closer to school. The main reason for chosing this apartment is really the view that we now how, covering the runway (just need to cut down some bushes to get see the whole runway) and parts of the school. The moving was done over the weekend and was done mostly with the help of a golfcart. This carried all our stuff incl 2 heavy desks). The boys pulled a sofastunt here the other day, managing to miraculously lift a heavy couch up over our balcony and in the door to upgrade our sofastandard. We have by the way tiny kittens outside our building. 6 tiny kittens around 2 weeks old have their den just underneith our balcony.

Our new residence, up and to the right!

I completed the solo cross country requirement this week and passed the stagecheck with Svein (to see if I satisfy the European standards to start instrument training). I've started the Commercial maneuvers and will start the instrument training in the next couple of days. For those of you unfamiliar with the term instrument flight, it is flying without outside reference. The challenge is to do all the procedures required to fly without the ability to look outside. I expect the most fun thing will be the landings. Simulating breaking out of the clouds at 200 feet with the runway straight in front of me. We use a so called "hood" to prevent us to see anything other than the instrument.

A collection of pictures from my new home:

The livingroom and kitchen.

The livingroom and kitchen. Notice the cosy sofa arrangement we have over by the tv.

Our desks, mine to the right.

My bed to the left with my new bedsheet (stars and suns)

Our amazing view. We can almost see
the entire runway and some of the school.
