I was on my first cross country flight in the clouds
today. Incredible feeling to take off and drill
my airplane through the clouds and then fly on without
really seing anything. The clouds were pretty funny
today, cause I was going in and out of them all
the time. A bit of work was needed though to keep
altitude and heading through some of the clouds.
I was flying wtith Jay today, and even though it's
a bit scary in the beginning to hear: "Yiiiiiha,
ride her cowboy!!" every time we hit turbulence,
I got used to it after a while.
Todays flight wend down to Charleston and on to
Columbia. Here we took a little break and had lunch
at Sonic Burger. Then we flew back to Conway via
Florence. I got to log a total of 4 hours today,
out of which 3,5 was instrument.
At this point I have nearly 130 hours of total
flight time and I'm only 13 hours short of instrumenttime
before my instrument checkride. I hope to do the
checkride in a couple of weeks, which is a pretty
scary thought, even though I feel the procedures
are going pretty good.
