CFII AND GRADUATED FROM NAIA
Written: 02 APRIL 2004

I'm at this very moment finished at NAIA. Just after 1300 today I got my last certificate from Mr Fred Saverance after passing my CFII checkride. This was the last checkride of the total 6, and I can now, in addition to Commercial Multi Engine Instrument Pilot, call myself Flight Instructor Instrument.

The checkride started at 0800 and as usual I had the oral part of it together with Kristian. Fred asked very specific questions today, for example: how much tailwind do you have if you have to reduce the power to 1700 RPM to maintain the glideslope? But the oral part went ok. The flight was pretty easy. Just had to do what I normally do when I'm out flying instrument and add some comments about what and why I'm doing things. I had to explain the ILS 18 at Myrtle Beach to him while he was flying, and I had to fly the VOR 23 partial panel (we simulate that two important instruments are inoperative). Back at Conway I landed safely (as usual) and got my certificate.

I've been waiting for this day for quite som time now, and it is a wierd feeling actually being done. A little under 9 months ago I didn't know up from down on an airplane (even though I thought I did), and today I am checked out as a flightinstructor. I've checked out of the school and I'm ready to leave Conway.

Satisfied after completing my checkride.

My temporary certificate.
Flight Instructor Instrument.

Me and Kristian are packing the car and driving down south Sunday to hunt for a job. We have come up with a route which gives ut the chance to stop by as many flight schools as possible. The plan is to talk to as many flight school as possible and we hope to find a place in need of instructors. In the mean time we'll stay at motels and eat fast food. We have decided that this is the easiest, cheapest and most realistic way to find a job. Underneith you'll find a map covering our plan. It'll most like change as time progresses. We have no idea how long we're going to spend, but we hope to find something within a week.

"Dess nice, act professional and hope for the best! "

A total of approx. 1000 miles = 1600 km
The map shows the biggest cities we're stopping by.
We have handpicket about 30 schools along this route.
