I've been making good progress with my first two
students, Paul Jones from England and Ed Lustig
from Holland, and I sent them both on their first
solo this weekend, which was just as exciting for
me as it was for them.
I've been working at the school here for about
3 weeks now and have so far logged about 50 hours.
There is alot of flying at the moment, but it will
probably quiet down towards the summer. It is pretty
hot here at the moment. The temperature is crawling
up over 30 C almost every day and the sea temperature
in the end of April was 27 C. Florida is notorious
for its thunderstorms in the summermonths, and in
the last couple of days we have gotten a little
taste of what the future will bring.
We have to be at the school from 8 to 18 every
day, which can be pretty exhausting. I've started
bringing my pc to work so I can use my "idle"
time efficiently. Today was my first day off, and
I will have the Monday off every week now. I spent
the day doing different stuff I had to do, but had
to stop by the school for a little ground instruction
in cross country planning.
I've also started to transfer my hours into my
JAR-FCL logbook (the european). Seems to be a pretty
large project, so I figured our I might as well
start.
We spent this Saturday at the beach and in the
jacuzzi again. This is about the only time we have
to relax. Our trip to the beach was interrupted
by a thunderstorm, but as true vikings, we were
the last ones off the beach. After the weather had
calmed down we headed straight for the jacuzzi.
This week I'll be flying alot of cross country
with my students. Hopefully I'll get Ed ready for
the checkride by the end of this week.
I've posted some more pictures in my gallery:

It is school tradition to cut the back of the
t-shirt worn during the flight and write on it.
