400 HOURS
Written: 02 JUNE 2004

After one and a half month here in Naples I've passed 400 hours of total flying time. That means that I "only" have about 800 hours left before I reach my goal here. I was flying alot last week, with between 5 and 7 hours in the air each day.

But towards the end of the week it all came to a sudden stop when I caught a cold and one of my wisdomteeth decided to start making trouble. So now on Friday I'm going back to the dentist to extract it. I had the choice between Dr Payne (a bit ironic) and Dr Reed who is a dental surgeon/plastic surgeon. I went with the last guy by instinct. Other than that, I'm having trouble with the Norwegian government's health insurrance who decided to be diffucult right before my wisdomtooth started aching. It almost seems like a government conspiracy against me, where they are trying to help me as little as possible. No scholarships, not even a loan, and now they won't even help me if I get sick. The State of Welfare.. Norway.

At the moment I have 3 students, and I was supposed to get one more on Friday, but because of my tooth that never happened. One of my students, John, is getting really close to his Commercial checkride, while Charles went solo yesterday. Number 3 is Bert who is doing his PPL on his spare time.

Towering cumulus which popped up from
nowhere yesterday. Tops at 60 000 feet.
There will be more of these in the coming months.
