HOMECOMING
Written: 30 OCTOBER 2004

The last couple of weeks I've been working 12-14 hours every day to get everything done. I beat my old record in October, and it looks like when the month ends tomorrow night, I'll have 138 hours logged. I've just passed 900 hours total, so my hours are building up fast.

We went to a football game last night to see the Naples Golden Eagles beat Gulf Coast. I'm truly facinated by the enthusiasm and energy Americans put into their schools. Even though the game was at the high school level, the stadium was full, the quality of the game was high and there was a huge show with a huge band and a bunch of dancers and cheerleaders. Apparently this happens every week. When I think back on my time as a soccerplayer in Norway, we were lucky if only our coach showed up when we played away. Here the visitors section was almost full, and the visitors brought a huge marchingband with dancers and everything.

We had a going away party for Ivar last Sunday which was lots of fun. He left the school a couple of weeks ago to go back to The Netherlands. There's 3 new instructors starting up in November.

Election on Tuesday... lets see if the Americans can have a fair election this year, in the spirit of the critisism of dictators around the world ;)

Naples Golden Eagles won 35-0 over
Gulf Coast. That's 5 touchdowns.

Gulf Coast's half time show was displayed
after the game, as they spent the break to
announce the homecoming queen!
