10 DAYS
Written: 06 DECEMER 2004

22 November was my last official day at work as a flight instructor, and I had planned it so I could spend the last couple of weeks here in the States relaxing before I pack up my stuff and head back to good old Norway.

Trisha had invited me to Kansas to celebrate Thanksgiving, so I jumped on the plane and flew up there on the 23rd. The flight connected in Minneapolis, which was kind of a detour, and I also had to wait here for 3 hours, so I decided to go to the Mall of America which is the biggest mall in the States (even got it's own theme park in the middle)

I spent a week in Kansas where all I basically did was to eat good food and relax. I was invited to no less than two Thanksgiving dinners, so I got my chance to fill up on turkey, stuffing, pies and everything else that comes with the Thanksgiving tradition. The week in Kansas was absolutely wonderful, but the time went by too fast (as it usually does)

Back in Florida I headed straight to Miami to pick up my buddy Fredrik on Thursday. He decided earlier that week that he would stop by for a couple of days to get away from the cold weather and all the exams... A couple of trips to the beach, a couple of nights out, a flight to Key West and some sightseeing in Miami was what we had time for before he got back on the plane again today. Even though it didn't last that long it was alot of fun.

I've now got 10 days left until me and Kristian get on the plane and fly back to Norway. It's one year since I was last home and almost 1 1/2 years have passed since I got here in July 2003. The time here in the States has gone by extremely fast, and it's a strange feeling to be done with this part of the education. Back home more and bigger challenges awaits.

The first snow came the day I arrived in Kansas. This is where Trisha lives.

I stopped by Mall of America in Minneapolis on my way to Kansas. The biggest mall in the US. They even got rollercoasters inside.

On our way down to Key West in 953AC
