A short summary of what's been going on in the
last couple of months. Basically it can be summarized
by one word: Reading. The refreshercourse at NEAR
is coming up here fairly soon, starting April 4
and going on until April 22.
I spent most of February in Denmark with my Grandfather
at his place in the countryside. Lovely peaceful
surroundings made reading easy. I also visited a
friend of the family at Lindholm Airport, from which
you can see some pictures on the right.
I flew down to Denmark and back with SunAir
which flies between Oslo and Aalborg with a small
Jetstream 31. The whole way back I got to sit on
the first row with access to the cockpit and my
own headset (which is the closest you get to jumpseat
in this small airplane). The Captain and First Officer
were both on their way to Sterling to fly the 737NG,
and the day I flew was actually the Captains last
day flying for SunAir. The flight started with us
having to hold short for about 20 minutes because
of understaffed ATC in Norway, leading to a change
in our slot into OSL. This however, gave the pilots
an opportunity to do a bit of show and tell, explaining
the bits and pieces of the Jetstream.
After my trip to Denmark I got another small vacation
in the form of a trip to visit friends in Trondheim.
I flew up there with Fredrik on a Thurday and stayed
with Mads till Monday. The trip was alot of fun,
and it was wonderful to get a little break from
the reading.
Other than that me and Kapur went to visit Kristian
in Hamar, and I've been in bed for a week with the
flu. That about wraps it up.

JETSTREAM 31: SunAir flys this one from Oslo
to Aalborg.

SN-601 CARAVELLE: This type is not a common
sight around, but I found this one at Lindholm.

METRO II: One of the planes in the North Flying
fleet. Is supposed to be a dirty mess to preflight.
(I met a Metro pilot at FSDO in Miami)
