SUMMER PICTURES
Written: 16 AUGUST 2008

A small update with some of the pictures I´ve taken during the summer season flying around Norways beautiful scenery.

I´ve flown most of the routes this summer except the west coast. I got a few days down south at Torp, so I got a nice taste of the regional routes that we fly, which is quite to the different than the short field operation.

In July I was back in Scotland for the first time since I moved, flying to Aberdeen from Stavanger. No sign of any of Highlands Jetstreams though.

Just a week after I was finally released, I was back in the simulator for the half year check called OPC. It went well, although it was harder to fly the simulator this time after being used to flying the actual aircraft.

Returing from Copenhagen to Sandefjord Torp

Southwards from Evenes. Hamarøy down to the right and Lofoten in the horizon.

Approaching Mo i Rana

Mountains at Tysfjord between Bodø and Evenes.
Norways national mountain, Stetind, can be
seen in the background

Approach runway 34 Mosjøen at dusk

Approaching Sørkjosen

An amazing flight out to Lofoten and back in the sunset. It´s days like these it feels somewhat surreal that I actually get paid to do this.

Flying into Leknes

Same picture as the one to the right, but the camera
is turned further towards the south.

Flying out of Leknes

I think this is Bliksvær on our way in to Bodø. In the background you can see the Lofoten islandsVærøy and Mosken.

Out of Torp I´ve had my first flights to Copenhagen, which is the biggest and busiest airport we fly to.

Widerøe started new routes from Copenhagen to both Haugesund (western Norway) and Rygge (outside Oslo). The route from Rygge unfortunately has been shut down due to lack of market response and lack of airplanes.

The flight between Copenhagen and Haugesund crosses the Northern part of Denmark, where half of my family roots are from. I tried to find my grandfathers house, but unfortunately it was too cloudy.
