Class 65 A

Here my entire class, not exactly large. The reqruitment has hit rock bottom, but I guess that's to our advantage. If we were more there would simply not be enough instructors.

From left: Bernt Christian, Kristian, Mikkel
Sitting: Kapur

North American Institute of Aviation

The picture is showing part of the main building where you'll find the administration, flight office and flight planning room. The building to the right is where the instructors "live", and to the left you can see what's left of the main building after the fire in May 02 (lightning).

The new building

The new building which will replace the school building that was lost in the fire in 2002 is almost finished. It will officially be opened in May. The contruction has progressed very fast and the result is very promising.

Conway - Horry County Airport

This is what the airport looks like on downwind for runway 22. It's a county airport, but NAIA are the only one using it.

Final Runway 22

This is what it looks like right before landing at runway 22. The other runway (4) is the same runway, only opposite direction.

Line

All the planes are placed out here on line. As you can see there are alot of planes to choose from.

Flight Office

Here all the flights are coordinated and it's here I go whenever I have a scheduled to pick up the keys.

CFI Groundschool

Mike Wetmore is the instructor for the CFI course. The ground school is very good, and we spend more time up on the whiteboard than we use at our desks. A very good course which is preparing us for the life as flight instructors.

Ground School

This classroom is the home of Ground School. This is only temporarily til they get the new building up and running, but I doubt we'll ever be around to experience that.

Anna and me

Anna was my primary instructor. She doesn't really like to be taken pictures of, so I guess she's not to extatic about me posting this picture on my site.

Dave K and me

I've also flown a bit with Dave Kesterson, which is a funny guy with alot of stuff to teach. He says: "You only remember like 15% of what I'm telling you, so I figure if I talk all the time you'll probably remember the most important things."

Morten and me

Morten has taken care of me in the Commercial phase and is also going to prepare me for the CFII. I know him from before when we both worked at Gardermoen. He came to NAIA one year before me and is leaving for Norway soon to complete his JAA certificates.

Jay and me

I flew some of my instrument with Jay and all of my multi time with him. He likes to do things the military way and is very engaged in the Civil War. He's every now and then out in the fields doing reenactments dressing up as a soldier and firing off some rounds of blanks.

Building A (Alpha)

Here's our new residence. "Refurnished" (They've attached some wood lookalike-plastic over the old wood). But at least it looks a whole lot better than it used to. The appartment has a view over the runway and is closest to the school.

Livingroom and kitchen

Here's the new livingroom and kitchen. Better than the old one but still a bit to 70's. It includes a dishwasher, washingmachine, dryer and a couple of other stuff. We have now tv with cable, telephone and internet conencted to a wireless router.

Livingroom

Same room, different angle.

Workplace

We've furnished the new room a bit different than the old one. We had a hard time moving the two desks from the old apartment, but we made it with a little help from a golfcart. My desk to the right.

My bed

Heres my bed to the left with my newly purchased bedsheet from Wal'Mart ($4,34). The beds are ok. The new matrass doesn't make as much noise as the old one did.

The view!!

Here's the view from our balcony. Almost the entire runway and some of the school (which is located to the right outside the picture).

Contrails

Theres Jet routes going straight over our roof, so there are often contrails in the sky. This is however pretty rear... 5 planes in formation.

Myrtle Beach

Going for a swim in March isn't a bad idea. Here's a picture of the beach from the pier. In the summer this beach is packed.

Ocean Boulevard

The main street down by the beach in Myrtle Beach. Not very exciting in the Spring, but there's supposed to be alot of things happeing here in the summer.

Wal*Mart

Or Wally World as some like to call it. The van goes from NAIA every weekday at 5pm. Wal*Mart is incredibly big and has everything you need and don't need. First time I went in here I wandered around for an hour without really finding anything. Now on the other hand I've become quite the experienced Wal*Mart shopper!
