This work week started as usual with a flight with SAS from Oslo to Bodø, but with an extra 20 minutes of holding over Bodø waiting for the runway to be cleared of snow.

The job as a pilot in Widerøe during the summer season is quite different from the winter. The weather is generally quite nice, with exceptions of course, and it´s absolutely amazing to fly around in our fantastic Norwegian scenery.

18 June 1934 a Widerĝe passenger airplane took off from Oslo on its first regular domestic civil air service granted by the Norwegian goverment: Oslo-Kristiansand-Stavanger-Haugesund and back the same day. In the captains seat sat Viggo Widerĝe, who together with other aviation enthusiasts founded the airline 19 Februar the same year.

It´s almost become a tradition for me to experience one Red Bull Air Race a year, and this year the trip went to The United Arab Emirates where the opening round were hosted this weekend.
